A Warm, Secure & Safe Environment On Set

When working with children or young adults on a film or TV production. It’s important we provide them with a warm, secure and safe environment often we are taking these children from an education setting and this is what is provided by them we want to provide this on set too.

What does a warm, safe and secure environment look like or what should we provide

: Young actors supervised by Chaperones that meet the specific needs of children

:Safe areas to relax (child friendly green rooms)

:A calm working environment ( Children more so than ever pick up on conflict/stress)

: A child appropriate work place ( crew having relevant child training and being a good fit for children productions)

:Building warm and secure relationships with young cast getting to know them and their needs before filming starts and meeting them!

: Clear communication listening to young cast and taking action on what they tell you

This is just some of what you can do there is much more and the benefits to these really will help you throughout your production.

Young actors will be confident and give you great performances. They will be happy remember they are children and yes it’s a work environment but we want happy children for many there 1st time on set will be something they have dreamed of

You are safeguarding them from the outset it’s not an after thought or tick box your getting it right for all your young cast.

By doing the work at the begin you will safe time and avoid issues coming up during filming. Children’s time on set or on location is limited it’s vital to use it efficiently by doing all of the above this will safe you time.
