The Dog House Out On BBC I-Player Now

This job was short but an absolute delight. A pilot episode from Hattrick Productions.

I got to work with lots of people I have previously worked with.

I find when working with children this always is a benefit. We understand how each other work and how to work together to support children and provide a warm and secure environment for them.

The show itself is a comedy which was lovely to be involved with and a change from some of the darker themed productions I have been involved with. Saying that when children are involved no matter what we are filming we aim to have fun and some laughter on set.

A big shout out to the production team on this I previously shared how they always go the extra mile for young cast and fully embrace a child centred approach.

I felt on this production all the crew and especially HOD’s did this which is great to witness and makes young cast feel like a valued and supported member of the team. This gives them confidence and helps them thrive on set which is what we all want strong performances and happy children.

When I reflect on jobs I often think you can’t beat experience, experience of being around children and being on a working set with them. The more I work together with crews and production the more we learn how to work together and what works best for individual children.

We talk before and plan what we need in place for individual children. This means we hit the ground running.

We all know with children that we only have a set amount of time with them each day so the more we can do before the more time we save for filming.
